Tinubu Re-Election Project Is My Number One Priority, Oborevwori Declares

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has declared that the Tinubu re-election project is his number one political priority ahead of the 2027 general election. The governor said he would mobilise support across Delta State to ensure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secures a second term in office. Oborevwori made the remarks during a media engagement where he defended his support for the President and highlighted what he described as the importance of sustaining ongoing national reforms. The Tinubu re-election project has become a major part of the governor’s political agenda following his alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections have continued to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape. Several governors and political leaders have openly declared support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition, citing the need for continuity in governance and ongoing economic reforms.

Governor Oborevwori has emerged as one of the prominent political figures backing the President’s re-election effort. His support follows a series of endorsements by political groups, community organisations, and stakeholders across Delta State. The governor’s position is significant because Delta remains one of the key states in the South-South region and has historically played an important role in national elections.

Speaking on the 2027 political landscape, Oborevwori said the Tinubu re-election project would receive his full attention and support. According to the governor, President Tinubu deserves another term to consolidate reforms already initiated by his administration. He maintained that continuity would provide an opportunity for ongoing programmes and policies to achieve their intended outcomes.

Oborevwori also referenced the relationship between Delta State and the President’s family, noting that First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has roots linked to Delta State. He described the President as an in-law to the state and argued that Deltans should support him in the next election.

The governor stated: “The man is an in-law here, and it would be evil to vote against your in-law. It’s a family affair.” He further indicated that political mobilisation efforts would intensify as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

The governor’s comments align with previous political activities in Delta where support groups and stakeholders have endorsed both Oborevwori and President Tinubu for another term in office. Political organisations have also launched grassroots mobilisation initiatives aimed at strengthening support structures ahead of the elections.

The declaration reinforces growing political momentum around President Tinubu’s expected re-election bid. For the APC, support from influential governors and regional political leaders could strengthen grassroots mobilisation efforts and broaden the party’s reach ahead of the election.

The governor’s position may also influence political calculations within Delta State and the wider South-South region, where parties are already intensifying preparations for the 2027 contest. Political analysts note that endorsements and mobilisation efforts are likely to increase as parties continue to build alliances and consolidate support bases nationwide.
