Shettima, APC Heavyweights to Storm Ekiti for Oyebanji Mega Rally
Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside APC governors, national leaders, federal lawmakers, ministers, and thousands of supporters, is expected to converge on Ado-Ekiti for a massive political rally in support of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s re-election bid. The event, described as a landmark political gathering, is part of the grand finale of the Oyebanji mega rally, marking the climax of weeks of statewide mobilisation across Ekiti State.
The rally is scheduled for Tuesday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion along New Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti. It is expected to begin at 11:00 a.m.
According to Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, Director of Media and Communication for the Ekiti APC 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council, the gathering represents the peak of a grassroots campaign that has covered all wards, communities, and local government areas in the state. He said the Oyebanji mega rally is projected to be one of the largest political gatherings ever held in Ekiti State, with broad participation from political stakeholders and citizens across different sectors.
The campaign council confirmed that Vice President Shettima will lead a strong delegation of APC leaders to the rally. APC governors, members of the National Assembly, ministers, and top party executives are also expected to attend, signalling what the party describes as the strategic importance of Ekiti State within its political structure. The council said the presence of national figures reflects confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership and performance over the past four years.
The rally follows months of endorsements from traditional rulers, market associations, professional bodies, youth groups, women associations, civil servants, retirees, religious leaders, and political stakeholders across party lines.
The campaign council said this widespread support reflects growing confidence in the governor’s administration and its development agenda. According to the statement, the Oyebanji mega rally will highlight the unity of Ekiti citizens behind a shared vision of continuity and progress.
The APC campaign council highlighted Governor Oyebanji’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, tourism, security, and economic development.
It also praised his governance style, describing it as inclusive, accessible, and people-focused. The council stated that citizens across the state have consistently expressed satisfaction with the administration’s responsiveness and delivery of democratic dividends during campaign visits.
The campaign organisation said the grand finale rally is not only a celebration of achievements but also a reaffirmation of collective support for continued governance under Oyebanji. It described the gathering as a symbolic moment for Ekiti State, reflecting unity across political, social, and generational divides.
“The rally will be a powerful statement of unity and a clear signal that Ekiti people are determined to consolidate on the remarkable gains recorded over the last four years,” the council stated. It added that the mandate for continuity represents a shared desire to sustain peace, stability, and development in the state.
The APC campaign council assured attendees of adequate security and logistical arrangements for the event. It also urged participants to maintain order, comply with security directives, and follow traffic management instructions throughout the rally.
Supporters, party members, and residents were encouraged to turn out in large numbers for what has been described as a defining moment in Ekiti’s political calendar and a major highlight of the Oyebanji mega rally.
