APC Defends Tinubu, Knocks Critics Over Reform Agenda

APC defends Tinubu against growing criticism, stating that the administration’s policies and reforms are already delivering results across key sectors. The ruling party said opposition figures are spreading misleading narratives to discredit government efforts.

The position was outlined in a statement issued in Sokoto. It comes amid ongoing national debate over economic reforms and governance. APC defends Tinubu at a time of heightened political discourse over economic policies and national development. Recent reforms, including fiscal and structural changes, have generated both support and criticism.

The All Progressives Congress has maintained that these policies are necessary for long-term stability. Opposition parties, however, have questioned their impact on citizens. The statement reflects ongoing exchanges between the ruling party and critics over governance performance. It also aligns with early political positioning ahead of future elections.

APC defends Tinubu in a statement by Malam Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the APC National Chairman. He accused opposition elements of orchestrating misinformation campaigns through social media. According to him, such actions are aimed at discrediting the administration’s achievements. Dingyadi described the narratives as “false and misleading,” adding that they reflect political desperation.

He said attempts to downplay government performance, particularly in northern Nigeria, should be rejected by citizens. The APC spokesman stated that an objective assessment shows progress in security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and healthcare. He added that government policies are targeted at improving welfare and driving economic growth.

“The use of reckless criticism and deliberate misinformation is unacceptable at a time the country is working to overcome longstanding challenges,” he said. Dingyadi also said the party’s National Working Committee remains committed to supporting policies aimed at strengthening the economy and enhancing national security. He highlighted initiatives in road construction, housing, social intervention programmes, and agricultural expansion.

APC defends Tinubu highlights continued political contestation over policy outcomes and governance performance. It reflects the role of party structures in shaping public narratives around reforms.

The exchange between government and critics may influence public perception of ongoing policies. It also underscores the importance of information accuracy in political discourse. As political activities increase, such statements may shape alignment among stakeholders. They also reflect broader debates about economic reforms and national priorities.
