APC Denies Withdrawing 2027 Campaign Council List

The All Progressives Congress has rejected reports that it withdrew the list of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the claim as unfounded.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the clarification on Tuesday morning as speculation continued over the composition of the campaign structure. Morka said the APC had not officially withdrawn the list and would communicate any changes through its established channels.

The controversy followed reports suggesting that the party had pulled back the campaign council list recently released ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The reports triggered speculation among party members and other stakeholders about possible changes to the campaign structure. However, speaking with TheCable, Morka dismissed the development as a rumour.

“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” the APC spokesman said.

His statement indicates that the APC campaign council remains in place pending any official communication from the party.

The APC had recently announced the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is seeking another term in office under the platform of the ruling party. The composition of the council generated reactions within the APC, with some party members and stakeholders raising concerns over the inclusion or exclusion of certain political figures. Those reactions subsequently fuelled speculation that the party could review parts of the campaign structure.

Despite the speculation, the APC has maintained that no formal withdrawal has taken place. Morka’s clarification suggests that the party will rely on official channels to communicate any future adjustments to the APC campaign council.

The party spokesman did not indicate that a revised list was being prepared or provide details of any potential changes. For now, the previously announced campaign council remains the official structure of the APC as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential election.
