Candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination can now verify and upload their O’Level results online without visiting a Computer-Based Test centre.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said the new system is initially available for results issued by the West African Examinations Council. The development is expected to reduce congestion at CBT centres while making the admission process faster and more convenient for candidates.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ examination results with the relevant examination bodies before uploading them to their profiles. The Board said the initiative would eliminate several challenges associated with the traditional manual upload process. These include misplaced or mixed-up certificates, submission of fraudulent or unverified results and mistakes in manually entering subjects and grades.
According to JAMB, integrating its e-Facility platform with examination bodies allows candidates’ results to be checked against official records before they are uploaded. The Board said the JAMB O’Level upload innovation is part of its renewed customer-focused approach to service delivery under its sixth Registrar, Professor Segun Aina.
JAMB explained that candidates must first obtain a result Verification Code through the designated verification portal. Applicants are required to provide their National Identification Number, select the number of O’Level sittings and identify the relevant examination body or bodies. They must also provide their email address and GSM number before making payment through the approved payment gateway. After payment, candidates are expected to enter their examination number, examination series and examination year.
Once the examination details have been successfully verified, a Verification Code will be issued. Candidates must then send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. JAMB said the verified result would subsequently be uploaded, while candidates would receive a notification confirming the submission.
Candidates presenting two O’Level sittings have an additional step to complete. They are required to log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.” After entering their Verification Code, their two verified results will be displayed on the platform. Candidates can then select the subjects they wish to apply.
JAMB said applicants must select at least five and not more than nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once. After making the required selections, candidates should click “Apply the O’Level Results.” A notification will be issued once the upload has been successfully completed.
The Board said the new system would be particularly beneficial when CBT centres experience heavy patronage, long queues or network difficulties.
By allowing candidates to complete the JAMB O’Level upload process remotely, the initiative could significantly reduce unnecessary physical visits and paperwork. JAMB said it would continue strengthening its collaboration with examination bodies and other government agencies to improve its digital services.
The Board added that technology would remain central to its efforts to simplify admission-related procedures and improve the experience of candidates. The latest development represents another step in JAMB’s digital transformation, shifting an important admission process from physical intervention at CBT centres to a technology-driven system that candidates can access remotely.
