The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has issued fresh guidelines for candidates participating in its 2026/2027 UNILAG Post-UTME aptitude test, warning that examination malpractice, impersonation and other violations could lead to disqualification or cancellation of results. The warning was contained in a statement released on Tuesday by the university’s Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. Abosede Wickliffe.
According to the university, the UNILAG Post-UTME aptitude test will be conducted online from July 27 to July 31 under remotely proctored examination conditions. Candidates are required to strictly comply with all examination rules, as any breach may attract disciplinary measures, including disqualification.
UNILAG directed candidates to use only laptops equipped with built-in webcams and microphones throughout the examination. The institution prohibited the use of: mobile phones, tablets, external webcams, smart glasses, headphones, other electronic devices
Candidates are also expected to remain alone in a quiet and well-lit environment for the entire 30-minute examination. The university warned that speaking during the examination, reading questions aloud or allowing another person into the examination area would be treated as examination misconduct.
The registrar advised candidates to ensure they have stable internet connectivity and uninterrupted electricity throughout the examination period. She noted that the university would not be held responsible for disruptions arising from network failures, power outages or any technical issues beyond its control. Candidates experiencing technical problems during the examination were instructed to immediately use the “Need Help?” feature available on the examination platform.
UNILAG announced that participation in the mock examination, which remains available until July 25, is compulsory for every candidate. According to the university, the mock exercise is designed to verify: device compatibility, internet stability, webcam functionality, overall system readiness
The institution added that the Safe Examination Browser supports only devices running Windows 10 or later and macOS Ventura or later. Candidates were advised to use the same laptop, internet connection and examination environment during both the mock exercise and the actual aptitude test.
The university warned applicants against patronising cybercafés, business centres, CBT centres or individuals falsely claiming to represent UNILAG. It emphasised that the screening exercise will be conducted strictly online, allowing candidates to write the examination from locations of their choice.
UNILAG also clarified that the approved screening fee remains ₦5,500, comprising: ₦2,000 application fee, ₦3,500 administrative fee
Candidates were urged to rely only on the university’s official website and verified communication channels for authentic information. The institution reiterated that fraud, impersonation, unauthorised assistance or any form of examination malpractice could result in cancellation of an applicant’s screening or examination results, adding that all decisions concerning the conduct and outcome of the UNILAG Post-UTME aptitude test shall remain final and binding.
