Tunji Bello, Executive Vice Chairman of the FCCPC, made the disclosure on Thursday while briefing State House correspondents at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The commission is responsible for enforcing competition and consumer protection laws in Nigeria and handling complaints lodged by consumers against businesses.

Bello said the FCCPC had received thousands of complaints from Nigerians across the telecommunications, energy and fintech sectors.

He stated that the commission had recovered more than N20bn for consumers as of March 2026.

According to Bello, the commission resolved more than 9,000 complaints and recovered over N10bn for consumers between March and August 2025.

The telecommunications, energy and fintech sectors were identified as the industries with the highest volume of complaints received by the commission.
