Tinubu’s remarks were contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The statement outlined the president’s position on the upcoming elections in the three jurisdictions.

Tinubu commended the INEC for preparations already made for the elections. The statement noted that the president urged the electoral body to conduct the polls in a manner that is peaceful and orderly.

The statement also said Tinubu called on security agencies to support INEC in the conduct of free, fair, and orderly elections.

President Tinubu’s appeal came as preparations continue ahead of the governorship and state assembly elections in Kano and Rivers, as well as the FCT Area Council elections.
