Caleb University in Imota, Lagos has graduated 1,924 students at its 15th convocation ceremony, awarding degrees to deserving candidates across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the institution said.
The convocation ceremony held on Saturday marked the 15th graduation event since the university was established. The event brought together graduands, academic staff, dignitaries, and parents to celebrate the academic achievements of the students.
Caleb University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens, said that a total of 1,924 students successfully completed their programmes and were eligible to graduate. The graduands included 1,112 undergraduates and 812 postgraduate students.
Among the undergraduates were 967 graduates in various first-degree programmes and 145 in diploma and other undergraduate awards.
The postgraduate cohort comprised 610 master’s degree recipients and 202 students awarded postgraduate diplomas and other advanced certificates.
Prof. Owens said that the convocation highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its contribution to human capital development.
He said the diversity of programmes reflected the institution’s broad academic offerings.
The ceremony featured academic processions, the conferment of degrees, and presentation of certificates to graduands by members of the university’s governing council and senate.
Parents and guardians were present to witness the milestone, celebrating graduands’ academic achievements. The event also provided an opportunity for family and friends to support the graduates as they received awards in various fields of study.
