Visa, Zenith Bank Launch Signature Card for Affluent Customers

Visa Inc. has partnered with Zenith Bank to introduce the Visa Signature Card, a premium payment solution designed for affluent customers in Nigeria.

The card was unveiled during a media briefing at the Zenith Bank headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Executives from both organisations said the initiative forms part of efforts to expand premium banking offerings for high-net-worth individuals and internationally mobile customers.

Officials noted that Zenith Bank already provides premium card products such as Gold and Platinum cards to its high-end clientele.

The introduction of the Visa Signature Card is positioned as an additional offering within the bank’s premium services segment.

General Manager of the Retail Group at Zenith Bank, Emmanuel Oladimeji, said the product represents an upgrade of existing premium card offerings for affluent customers.

According to him, “What we are launching today is a scale-up of what we already have in the market for affluent customers.”

He added that the bank’s current premium card options include Gold and Platinum cards targeted at similar customers.

Marketing Director for West Africa at Visa, Seun Aderamola, said the card was developed following research into the lifestyle patterns of affluent customers, particularly their travel and premium service preferences.

She explained that the card provides both global and local lifestyle benefits through partnerships with merchants in major travel destinations and within Nigeria.

According to Aderamola, the card offers access to airport lounges worldwide, travel assistance services and discounts at partner merchants across travel destinations including the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa.

Head of Card Services at Zenith Bank, Celestina Appeal, described the bank’s affluent segment as customers with significant financial capacity and high spending patterns.

She said these customers often travel internationally and seek convenient premium services.

Director of Business Development for West Africa at Visa, Badeji Oluwatoyin, said the partnership reflects Visa’s efforts to support banks with innovative payment solutions for affluent and high-net-worth individuals.

Officials stated that the Visa Signature Card also provides concierge services, travel support and lifestyle assistance designed to enhance convenience for customers.
