Sen Sani Musa Applauds Tinubu Over Approval of Suleja‑Minna Road Reconstruction

Senator Sani Musa has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the reconstruction of the Suleja‑Minna Road, describing the decision as timely and beneficial to residents and motorists who use the expressway, the senator said on Tuesday.

The Suleja‑Minna Road is a major federal highway that links Niger State with other parts of the country.

Sections of the road have deteriorated over time, prompting calls from commuters, motorists and community leaders for rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Musa spoke when the Minister of Works and Housing, Senator Dave Umahi, engaged with Niger State stakeholders ahead of the commencement of the road project.

He thanked Tinubu for approving work on the Suleja‑Minna Road, saying the approval was “a welcome development” for all those who travel the route.

The senator said that the Suleja‑Minna expressway is vital for residents, commercial transporters and farmers who rely on the route for movement of goods and people.

He said the approval to reconstruct the road “will bring lasting relief to users.”

Musa called on residents and commuters to be patient as work begins on the project. He noted that preliminary activities and preparatory engagements had begun in communities along the road corridor.

The Minister of Works and Housing said detailed plans for the reconstruction had been completed and that logistics for mobilising contractors were underway.

He said work on the road would commence soon, once all administrative and technical preparations were concluded.
