A coalition of political stakeholders and grassroots mobilisers within the Accord Party in Osun State has cautioned Ademola Adeleke against approving automatic tickets for incumbent federal lawmakers, warning that such a move could create internal crisis within the party.

The group made its position known in a statement issued in Osogbo and signed by Adekunle Gabriel on behalf of the coalition. The stakeholders expressed concern that granting automatic tickets could undermine fairness in the party’s internal processes.

According to them, while efforts to maintain political stability within the party may be understandable, the long-term strength of any political organisation depends on inclusiveness, transparency, and the confidence of party members and the electorate.

The coalition warned that sidelining other aspirants who have invested time, resources, and grassroots mobilisation in the political process could create dissatisfaction among party members. They noted that such actions might weaken political participation within the party.

The statement added that political history has shown that when the political playing field is perceived as uneven, grassroots morale tends to decline while opposition parties gain advantage.

According to the stakeholders, the strength of any political structure is better preserved through open and credible competition rather than arrangements that limit participation.

The coalition further stated that voters in Osun State are politically aware and sensitive to issues of exclusion or preferential treatment.

They stressed that maintaining public goodwill requires fairness and transparency in party processes.

They also noted that several aspirants across the state have already committed resources to consultations, mobilisation, and engagement with communities.

Granting structural advantages to a few individuals, they warned, could generate tensions capable of affecting party stability.
