The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has approved the withdrawal of 27 students from the institution for poor academic performance and failure to comply with registration requirements, citing the University’s Academic Regulations. The decision on the PAAU student withdrawal was reached during the Senate’s 166th Regular Meeting, held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, after members considered a report presented by the Results Verification Committee.
According to the committee’s findings, 11 students were withdrawn after failing to meet the University’s minimum academic requirements. Another 16 students forfeited their studentship for failing to register for two consecutive semesters, a violation that automatically results in withdrawal under the institution’s regulations. The affected students are drawn from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery.
Speaking during the Senate meeting, the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended members of the Results Verification Committee for what he described as their diligence, fairness and commitment to preserving the University’s academic integrity.
He reiterated that the institution remains committed to promoting academic excellence, discipline and quality assurance while providing students with a conducive learning environment. The Vice-Chancellor, however, stressed that students also have a responsibility to meet academic expectations and comply with institutional regulations.
Prof. Usman encouraged continuing students to stay committed to their academic pursuits by making effective use of the University’s learning resources and striving for excellence in both scholarship and character. He noted that maintaining high academic standards remains a key priority for the institution.
Following the PAAU student withdrawal, the University instructed all affected students to return every University property in their possession, including identity cards and other official materials, to the institution’s Security Unit before completing their exit procedures. The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Uredo Omale, who confirmed that the Senate’s decision was taken in line with existing academic regulations governing studentship at the institution.
