Political tensions are rising in Osun State as the All Progressives Congress and Governor Ademola Adeleke exchange accusations ahead of the state’s forthcoming governorship election.
The APC criticised the administration of Governor Adeleke, accusing it of attempting to mislead residents of the state regarding governance and political developments.
The party said the governor’s government had failed to address key issues affecting the people of Osun State.
In a statement issued by the Osun State chapter of the party, the APC alleged that the administration was engaging in actions aimed at influencing political perception ahead of the next governorship contest.
Responding to the accusations, the Adeleke administration rejected the claims made by the APC.
The state government described the allegations as politically motivated and maintained that the governor remained focused on governance and delivering development projects across the state.
The government also stated that its policies and programmes were aimed at improving the welfare of residents and strengthening infrastructure development in the state.
The exchange between the ruling administration in the state and the APC comes as political parties begin positioning ahead of the next governorship election in Osun State.
Political observers note that the growing public statements from both sides reflect increasing political activity as preparations gradually build toward the election.
