Tinubu Swears in Disu as Substantive Inspector-General of Police

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Kayode Adeolu Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police, according to a statement from the presidency on Wednesday.

Disu’s confirmation as substantive IGP follows his appointment earlier this month by President Tinubu.

He succeeds the former acting Inspector-General, who had been leading the Nigeria Police Force pending the substantive appointment. The swearing-in took place at the State House, Abuja.

The presidency said the appointment and swearing-in process were carried out in accordance with constitutional provisions governing the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.

Disu will now assume full responsibilities as the head of the policing institution.

The statement did not provide details on the ceremony or remarks by Disu after taking the oath of office. It also did not specify the date of his confirmation by the appropriate authorities.
